Hello, as you can see from the subject, when using word 2003,
windword.exe simply uses more and more RAM over time, up to over 1GB
(spills over to pagefile)! I am using a P4 with 768MB of ram. Operating
system is Windows 2003 Server standard edition.

What can I do (besides uninstall) to stop this issue. I'd really like
to continue using the product, but this is horrendous.

Suggestions?

The first thing you need to ascertain is if there are any addins or similar
running within Word that could be causing the problem. Also, what kind of
things is the user doing in Word / what commands are used most frequently?

To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any notable memory leaks in the
Word application any more. These problems stopped pretty much with the
release of Word 97. And even back in those days, it was usually enough to
quit Word to release such memory.

That you need to re-boot the machine indicates the problem could be a COM
Addin (such as the NAV Office Plug-in) that's "not playing nice".
